Travel in class with this rare find, or repurpose as a jewelry box. This box likely dates from the 1970’s.

Rich, deep red burgundy eel skin wraps around the exterior of this exquisitely made case. The handle and latch are made of brass, and eel skin, with a plastic cover. It also has a brass lock and feet.

The interior has a large mirror framed in eel skin, and an intense red velvet lining a red, white, and blue elastic band which surrounds the interior to secure bottles. Due to age, the elastic has lost some of its elasticity.

Condition: Gently worn, but is in remarkably good condition, for its age. There is a small amount of wear on the corners. There is a dark stain in the bottom of the case, and the brass has age related patina. We even have the lock combination!

Care information

Silver Plate

If your silver-plated jewelry has lost much of its luster, it's time to give it a proper clean. Mixing up a solution of lukewarm water and mild dish soap will do the trick, as will a lint-free cloth. After submerging the piece for several minutes, lightly rub it with the cloth to remove all dirt and grime. Finally, rinse off the jewelry under warm water and dry with another lint-free cloth.

Silver polishing is the best way to keep silver looking like new. If your silver plated jewelry has tarnished, soap and water does not always give your shine back. We recommend a little silver polish with a clean soft rag gently rub and rinse with warm soapy water

Pearls

Store your pearl in a soft bag, away from other jewelry. Wipe it down after use with a soft cloth. Avoid contact with perfume or lotion because the chemicals can damage the pearl and its luster. Do not wear pearls in water as this can impact their appearance and quality.
